Played first-class cricket from Himachal from the year 2001-2005, Rajinder Thakur was one of the most consistent players of his time. As a right arm off-spinner, he took many wickets and pulled out his team from losing many times. Rajinder Thakur also captained the U-25 State team of Himachal as well as U-19. He was also the captain of the Inter-University team of Himachal. He was accredited as an official SAI (Sports Authority of India) coach in 2013. His coaching style is a blend of unique calmness and methodology towards his kids and this is what makes him one of the loved and respected coaches at YSCE.
